I have been a faculty member at UWEC since 1993, including 8 years as Department Chair. I retired from UWEC in 2022. Ph. D. '93 University of California-Berkeley B.S. ResearchI primarily conduct research with undergraduates on questions of insect habitat conservation and restoration. My field work ranges from the prairies of Wisconsin to the montane meadows of New Mexico and Idaho.

CoursesI have taught variety of field- based active learning courses including general entomology, conservation biology, environmental science, tropical ecology and connecting kids to nature.

CommunityMy interests and outreach involves local and international conservation organizations and government natural resource agencies.
